Used to use Batiste for Brunette hair but it’s $8 a can, would run out within one week because I use dry shampoo on the daily, and it would leave horrible color residue that would drip or look weird when I sweat, get rain water on my hair and it would gunk up my shower and sleeping caps! Enter Acure: I got the original “light” version off of amazon for $8 and wow! My hair is left so soft, no residue anywhere, zero white cast and this bad boy lasts me a whole month and a half before I need to repurchase!

This is actually my first dry shampoo I’ve ever tried. I only use natural products and I there aren’t very many options when it comes to natural dry shampoos.
I have the one meant for dark hair, so you it has a pink tint. I literally just put my hair in a bun, tip the bottle upside down, and shake it onto my hair. It can be a little messy but I’m usually in a hurry when I’m using the product haha. After that I take my bun out and start working the powder into my roots with my hands. Just basically shaking my hair rapidly. I’ll the brush my roots with my wooden hair brush.
It honestly makes my hair look even better than when it’s just normal clean. Like, it gives it so much volume. I also have dark brown hair and after I’ve worked it in and shaken my hair up you can’t tell at all. Love it!

Unfortunately didn’t work for me. I liked the idea of a powder as opposed to aerosol, but this at first did nothing then throughout the course of the day made my hair look a lot worse. Stringy and even greasier looking than before.

I am leery of spraying alcohol at my hair (nearly all spray dry shampoos have SD-Alcohol as a main ingredient) so I’ve been looking at non-aerosol dry shampoos. This compares very favorably to the pricier and better-known Oscar Blandi dry shampoo. Unlike the Blandi and a lot of dry shampoos out there, this has a very mild, natural lavender scent, which I prefer over strong, artificial perfumes. The packaging is fine. I never squirt dry shampoo directly from the bottle anyway, so I don’t really care about the delivery method.
The texture is non-gritty and fine. I have dark hair and if used properly, this does not leave a white cast. I tap this onto my fingertips, rub them together lightly, then massage the product into my roots. I’ll do other things like put on makeup or brush my teeth, which gives the product time to absorb any excess oil. Then I thoroughly brush my hair. I can definitely feel the product in my roots if I run my fingers over my scalp, but it is not at all visible. TIP: This works best if you apply it the night before and let it sit in your hair all night before brushing it.
This stuff is effective and makes my hair look freshly washed on the second day. I don’t go more than two days without washing my hair, so I can’t tell you how this performs over more days. It also gives amazing volume (maybe due to the french clay) so it can be used as a styling product as well.
The argan stem cells are just a gimmick and I doubt they actually do anything to improve your hair. But the product is a very nice dry shampoo/volumizer and the price is pretty reasonable at around $12 for 1.7 oz. I use probably less than a teaspoon each time so I think it’s a good value, especially compared to similar products by Oscar Blandi ($11 for 1 oz) and Klorane ($19 for 1.7 oz).

I like this better than all of the dry shampoos that I have tried combined. I like that this actually works, is available at a reasonable price point, and does not involve spraying butane on my head. It takes some practice working the powder into you hair, but once you have gotten the technique down, it is easy to manage. This is the only dry shampoo I will invest in.

I’ve tried a couple of these, to add some “grip” to my hair, since it’s fine and slippery, and the pins that I like tend to slide out when I put it up. The Volumizing one is the one I like. It’s not too gritty, nor is it too hairspray like. More of an in between texture. No problems with blending into my brown hair. It does add some volume, but I have to be careful how much I use, because if I use too much, then I do see a cast, and my hair gets stiff, and feels dirty, and then I’m are stuck until I can wash my hair. The scent is melon, grapefruit and apple. It reminds me of a perfume, but I can’t put my finger on which one. I catch whiffs of it, but it’s not as overpowering as some other dry shampoos I’ve tried.
The other one I tried was called “Naughty”. That one was too strong of a scent for me, and I simply didn’t like it (lychee, orange, rose and amber/ patchouli). It was strong and cloying, and for that reason I wouldn’t buy that one again.
Normally I don’t let my hair get too oily, I wash as needed, but besides using it for grip, it does work in a pinch too, if I have to run out before I can wash my hair. Decent price, too. Hask Charcoal is still my favorite, though, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase this one.

I tried the original scent and it doesn’t seem to make my hair any less oily no matter how much I use at a time. I also have a layer of pink hair and it dries that hair out quite a bit

I used the clean & light bare version. It’s inexpensive, worked well, smelled nice, and blended nicely into my hair when massaged in (blonde hair, darker hair may see residue). I was using the Batiste about twice a week. I try not to overuse it. However, after about a month, I noticed my scalp was a bit sore. It wasnt painful, but felt as if I had a tight/ high pony tail in for a bit too long – that odd sore feeling. After a bit of googling, I noticed that others had similar experiences. I discontinued use. It’s really too bad because it was good, inexpensive, and easy to obtain.
My all time favorite dry shampoo was the Elizabeth & James Nirvana, but it was discontinued.

I used this for over a year, and noticed my hair in the front where my bangs are were seriously thinning (which is weird for me as I’ve always had crazy thick hair). It got so bad I went to a doc bc it was seriously affecting my self esteem and giving me anxiety. When they asked me what products I use I listed them and said I only used dry shampoo on my bangs and top of my head bc that’s where the oiliness was most obvious, and they told me the dry shampoo most likely blocked the follicles. I did some research after and found a lot of similar stories to mine. I can’t say for sure it was this product but it seems likely so use caution. Months later and I’m still dealing with the repercussions and it seriously sucks

This is an average dry shampoo that I was honestly just buying because it was cheap and it worked. Now that I’ve used other brands I wouldn’t go back to this. My first issue is that it only removed some of the oil in my hair but that’s not such a big deal. My biggest issue was that it left my hair feeling crunchy and looking weird. In my black hair it left a powdery residue that was very hard to rub away. Overall I don’t like this shampoo for darker hair because when you use it it ends up looking like you have grey hair or you have dandruff flakes.

My review is for OUAI regular dry shampoo, not the foam version.
Let’s start by saying that I never use dry shampoo. I have tried various brands, but none of them worked for me. I have pitch black hair and regular formula would give me ash-white strands that would be a nightmare to get rid of. Plus I did not notice any added volume or reduced oil residue (second day hair problems).
But I received the OUAI Dry Shampoo as a gift and did not look back ever since. I have fine hair that can lose volume easily, yet this product does not only keep my hair clean, but it also adds a wonderful scent and volume to it. Nothing red-carpet worthy, but still pretty damn impressive compared to everything else I have tried in the past! I talk more about it in a separate review here, for those of you interested in the brand ( Hope this helps! I will be repurchasing 100%.

I am rather disappointed in Gosh, Fresh Up! – Dry Shampoo for not only does it’s effects only last for about 2 hurs tops, I felt that it does nothing for the grease in my hair.
The scent of the dry shampoo was quite bearable for me and it’s Volumizing claim does live up to it’s claims.. for about an hour and a half. Aside from that, I did get some itchness in my scalp during the starting stage of using it.
Overall, I’m rather discontented with the dry shampoo, in fact I felt that what it does is to give one false hope about having voluminious hair and then let them down 2 hours later.

Spotted this in store and decided to give it a try. The fumes are really strong and it makes my fine hair feel kind of like straw. I’m cheap so decided to use it up anyway but after about 4-5 uses it doesn’t spray anymore even though I can tell there is still quite a bit left. I’ll stick with Batiste, which I really like and is the same price.

I just bought this on a whim because I needed something to freshen up my hair in between washes. I usually get the Batiste dry shampoo but this was on sale so i bought it. It was cheaper than the batiste one but after I used it I realized I actually paid more for this product than I would have for the Batiste one. This can is a measly 150ml and I paid $7 for it at shoppers drug mart. That’s really expensive if you ask me. When I used it at first I thought it was ok, it smelled pretty good and it didn’t come out as white as the Batiste one does, but later I felt that it really didnt soak up any oils in my hair and didn’t leave my hair soft – it kind of felt like more of a hairspray than it did a dry shampoo. So, I guess i’ll try to use this can up but I definitely won’t be repurchasing.

I checked many reviews online and bought it due to the high praise. I didn’t like it though. It did nothing to my hair and the smell of it attracted a lot of unwanted attention from insects (summer). I don’t know if I used it wrong but it made my scalp really itchy.I will try to finish the bottle but will not repurchase this again.

I also use the Klorane oil-suppressing dry shampoo which is more “natural” in ingredients and smell, but frankly, I like this one better! It just seems to work better in my fine hair.
The only complaints really are that 1) the bottle is small, why not make it a little bigger? and 2) the smell when you first spray it is intense – like, clear the room, run away, throw on a gas mask! But it disappears quick enough and then smells good.
I’ve tried TIGI Rockaholic and for the price, this is better IMO.

I love dry shampoos.I don’t like washing my hair everyday and after the second -third day, my hair gets oily. I spritz this over my roots and it dries out the oilies, leaves a pleasant scent, leaves no white residue and gives my hair volume. I love using this on clean hair when I want to make a “bouffant” aka Bridget Bardot, and this stuff gives me the lift and “dirtyness” to hold my pins and eleastics in place.
Compared to tresemme (which made my hair even more oilier), Orlando pita’s (which is expensive) and stila’s creme bouquet (left a white residue and was inconvenient), this a very good affordable and effecdtive product. You can get it at pharmaprix for on sale for $7.99, $9.99 regular price.

Worst dry shampoo I have ever, ever used. Leaves a lot of white cast and feels like a firm hold hairspray on the hair. Left my hair feeling sticky/tacky, inflexible, dry and difficult to style into anything other than a low ponytail if I didn’t want to cause tangles/damage. Worst of all it seems to leave some residue that lasts and I found that I had to properly clarify and deep condition my hair to get it back to normal again, as it stuck around causing tangles and stiffness even after a regular wash. No idea how testers let this get out of the lab and on to shelves. It is completely unfit for purpose, especially considering that here are plenty of similarly priced and much better/less damaging alternatives out there. Superdrug has some really great wins in their own brand products but this one is an utter fail. Save your money and avoid.

Oh my, this is really bad. I did actually read all the negative reviews but decided that it won’t hurt to try such a cheap product… and it did hurt, made my sculp super itchy so I had to wash my hair afterwards.

Cons: sticky as hell; made my sculp itchy; very scented

This seems to run contrary to the other reviewers, but nonetheless for my experience this is a great product for brunettes. It’s also a bargain price.
Batiste, even the brown tinted one, leaves white streaks in the hair and turns my dark brown hair grey. No amount of brushing seems to get it all out.
However, the powder in this one really is well pigmented dark brown, so works a dream on my hair. Absorbs oil just as well as Batiste, but leaving no powdery white streaks or matt chalkiness. As an added bonus it’s even a great stop gap if you have some greys in your roots, as this product makes them less noticeable.
It can feel a bit heavy and you definitely feel the product in your hair, but I feel that with all dry shampoos anyway.
