I tried Lip Ink in the mid-90’s when it came out & although it did stay all day, I wasn’t a huge fan of the “tingle” plus I wasn’t a gal who minds re-applying my lipstick. And it was so expensive! Fast forward 22 years (egads! Did I just say that?!) & I now am obsessed with my makeup looking perfect for as long as humanly possible. What can I say? Age…it’s a bitch. So I recently got a deal on a whole lotta Lip Ink products in a pouch & a discound on the VERY MUCH NEEDED Shine Moisturizer. I bought the shine in a dropper bottle so I drip one drop on my lips & smear it around with my finder. *More moisturizing base = less tingle*. Anyway I bought the kit & the shine from Lip Ink’s site where it was $19.99 + free shipping then turned to eBay for the colors because they weren’t on sale. I got Earth Red, Cherry & Hathor Brown (which I’ve yet to try). I got them for a fraction of the price on eBay- 2 for $28 & $21. It turns out that although the color is $25 on the site, the $21 one I bought came directly from the Lip Ink co.
I’m absolutely loving them for two reasons: 1) They stay on *IF* you follow instructions and are actually quite comfortable, again *IF* you follow directions. 2) You can color your inner lip with them making your lips look much fuller, something you can’t do with regular lipstick unless you want it all over your teeth. I’m going to try the sample eyeliner today. I’m a bit fearful of the “tingle” on my lash line, but if it stays on, I’m in!

Really disappointed in this one. It doesn’t stay any better than any other longwear lipstick, and worse than many, but is far streakier and obviously more fussy to put on. If I used a single coat it was an ugly streaky mess, but once I got to 2 or 3 it starts to chip and crack, despite that it feels less thick than most liquid lipsticks.
I don’t know if it’s just the shade I got or what, but it’s so bad that I’m not willing to spend the money to try a different one. It really is absurdly expensive. There are much better-looking lipsticks for a fraction of the price.
ETA: Yes I used all three steps and foillowed the directions to the letter. It still doesn’t stay any better, and doesn’t look good even freshly applied.

There are a number of bad reviews and the first thing I notice is that they seem to be really (I don’t know how to put this lightly, so I will just say it) dense. The website, the Amazon listing, every review site I’ve seen… it’s even posted on the actual package… all over in the store… I don’t know how people miss it. “You MUST use all three products together!”
Honestly, if you do it right, it doesn’t come off. Even with the “lip ink off” cleanser it’s a struggle. The colors are gorgeous.
Yes, it does tingle a bit. And the smell, that’s not alcohol, that’s tea tree oil.
Over all though, it is amazing. I wore it to Disneyland. DISNEYLAND where you are easing greasy food all day. It was fine. When I got home, looked exactly as it did when I led the house.
The color does intensify after the initial application so, do as they say and wait for it to dry before adding another layer. You can later colors to create a whole new color too. They all work beautifully together.
Overall, follow the directions and you will. Or be disappointed!!

This review is for the Lip Ink Eye Liner. First, I’m extremely oily and will gladly challenge all liners that claim all-day 24 hour staying power. Until Lip Ink, all have failed.
So far, this product has been the only one that actually stayed put throughout the whole day without any touch-ups.
I want to warn readers that the liner has a learning curve, however. You have to remove the wand and let the alcohol-based liner air out for a few seconds so it won’t burn your eyes. But you can’t let it sit out too long or else it will dry out. So, as you can imagine, my first few tries were a complete disaster (racoon??). As I got the hang of it and developed a physical tolerance to the slight burning feeling, all was good in the neighborhood.
The package comes with the liner and removing solution. The solution is supposedly the only thing that takes the liner off. That’s not true. I accidentally fell asleep without washing my face and the liner was completely gone by the morning…probably due to my super oily skin.
I’m sure that, one day, I’ll appreciate what mother nature gave me.

First off, I never ever ever write reviews but I had to write this one because this product is amazing and there were a few bad review about it which I don’t understand.
IN ORDER FOR THIS PRODUCT TO WORK PROPERLY, YOU NEED ALL THREE OF THE PRODUCTS: LIP OFF REMOVER, LIP INK, AND THE LIP SHINE. IF YOU ONLY GET THE STAIN IT DOES NOT WORK NEARLY AS WELL WITH ALL THREE.
I love this product! I’ve literally tried almost all the lip stains on the market, whether its the marker version, water based, or the duel gloss/cream product. I have tried the ones from Josie Maran, Beaute, tarte, make up forever, mac, sephora brand, covergirl, revlon, maybelline, stila, etc. Lip ink is by far the BEST! It feels like nothing on the lips and you don’t even need the gloss that comes with it in the starter kit in order for it to feel comfortable on the lips. Unlike other duel ended lipstains lip products like the sephora brand or make up forever aqua rouge lipsticks that dry, crack, flake, and clump up as well as make your lips look awful within a few hours; lip ink does not do that what so ever! Lip ink has the biggest and most flexible color range of any lipstain because you can mix and match any lip ink product to make any color under the sun.
Cons: Its pricey thats for sure, but since getting this product, I refuse to buy another lipstick that isn’t lip ink. Another con is that this has to be one of the most picky products when it comes to the application. It takes a few tries but once you get the hang of it, it because super easy. Finally, it kinda stings when you first apply it, I find it tolerable and it only last for 10 seconds.
Overall: I would 100% recommend it!!!!!
P.S. Buy the LIP INK STAIN not the LIP STAIN GEL, i have tried both and i much prefer the LIP INK STAIN.

This is awesome! So fun to experiment and play with. But….you do need to follow directions. So many combinations. I tried blush and nude. I got to tell you….nude is not nude! It seems more orangey with some pink in it. I found it looks great using one coat with their tinted moisturizer gloss called African Rooibos (which is a brownish hue). So great with a tan! And blush is very pretty and close to natural lip color with just one coat. If you use layers of the clear lip ink in place of the blush color ink then you can control the level of intensity and still get the staying power with the layers. So use one layer blush and two layers of clear. Along with moisturizer shine of course. I prefer the matte shine. But there are endless possibilities. And yes it is a little expensive but for me the pay off is so worth it. Good looking lips all day! Just apply lip ink’s gloss over top. No mirror needed for that! I have since purchased tons of colors and tinted moisturizing glosses (you have to use theirs coz other products break down the color). I have not tried the powders or waxless balms yet. But that’s next! Don’t give up on first try girls! Keep experimenting if you have invested in this.

ugh, I think there is a reason why this did not become not more popular over the past 14 years. I tried it for two different things:
1. as a lipstick, it is not all that different from any other 2-step longwear colors. it makes your lips look and feel dry, and the gloss doesn’t give any relief to that. it IS lighter weight and more transparent than the other brands, which I do like. but in the end, I just don’t wear it. I can’t rely on how it’s going to behave. just like the other longwear colors, there have been too many times that I looked in the mirror and was met with a patchy, flaky mess. I don’t want to walk around constantly checking it to make sure it still looks good, isn’t that the entire point of longwear color?
2. I tried some brown colors for eyebrows / eyeliner. I was so hopeful that I could put this on and maybe have it last through one washing so I could wake up with a tiny bit of color on in the morning. but unfortunately, the oils your skin works up throughout the day pretty much guarantee that it will mostly come off. it’s not even good for swimming. the brown colors are really weird too. sometimes they would look kind of greenish. also beware: do not let any of these touch rubbing alcohol! the brushes get really clumpy so I cleaned one off. when I put it back in the tube, the alcohol tainted the entire batch, instantly turning it from light brown to this horrible bluish-green color! how on earth was I supposed to know that? I had to throw it away. annoying.
I’m giving this three lippies because it was still a teensy tiny bit better than any other 2-step longwear colors I’ve tried. if you still DO want to try it, Rosewood was a good, neutral brownish pink that I think would be flattering to most. even if I put on three coats, it still did not look like too much. I would have loved it if it didn’t get so flaky and gross.

DO NOT BUY LIPINK.COM’S PRODUCTS, unless you want to be extremely disappointed & have your lips BURN like a Mutha & NEVER get your money back!
Their lip products burn…BAD. They smell horrible (reek of alcohol) After purchasing, I took a peek at the ingredient list, which I should have a lot sooner. They have a lot of toxic ingredients. No thanks.
I ordered the “Natural”, hoping for a Nude & thinking it would look like the color on the Website & coincidentally the same color on the top of the tube. NOT. It is WAY off. It was a dark plumb instead. They had the nerve to tell me blotting it several times would help. Well, it didn’t & my lips are still burning from whatever is in it.
Their Website Reviews are a joke, by the way. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all fake. I can’t believe anyone could like these products. I tried to write a review on their website, but it gets sent through an email first. I’m guessing the negative ones never get posted.
Their Return Policy is HORRIBLE. You have to make a R/T within 15 days of the SHIPPING DATE, which doesn’t give you very much time & you can ONLY return UNOPENED products. Are you kidding me? What if we don’t like it? Just AWFUL.
DON’T WAIST YOUR MONEY. Trust me!!

I was looking for a source of good, cruelty-free lipstains in a wide range of shades, and Lip Ink seemed perfect.
To be cautious, I first ordered a “free” ( you’re only out $ 6.95 for shipping) sample. Of the two sample shades offered, I chose “Rosewood,” a very tame-looking pink.
It turned out to be a very dark brown plum. The product is a very thin liquid, and it spattered when I opened the tube, staining several surfaces, including my bathtub.
The deal-breaker for me is the very strong “earthy” smell – I just can’t tolerate it. In fact, it was so overpowering that I couldn’t even apply the product to my lips. If its tenacity on my bathtub is any indication, though, Lip Ink is a no-kidding stain.
The odor eliminates Lip Ink as an option for me, unfortunately.
However, I tried LipSense, an apparently almost identical product, and it smells MUCH better, and performs beautifully. I won’t be buying Lip Ink again.
