At 52, I’m tired of wearing a full face of makeup every day. I love my HG Estee Lauder Double Wear, but I don’t need full coverage all the time, like work or running errands. Ive also stopped coloring my hair and I’m just paring things down now. I heard about this foundation in a video geared towards women over 50, and the reviewer really liked it for the durability and finish.
I ordered it online from Flower Beauty’s site and had it in about a week. In ELDW I wear 2N2, Buff, so I got Nude L3. It was lighter than I anticipated and very yellow, but once it was on it didn’t look bad. I used a damp disposable sponge because I only had the one I’ve used with Double Wear. The product is very thick, so I used two pumps for my face and a smidge more to cover a few red areas. I wear glasses so powder isn’t an option. I dusted a bit with my Coty Airspun in Naturally Neutral, and finished my face. All drugstore today, none of my high end.
I applied at 11 am this morning and ran some errands. I didn’t check it in daylight until around 4. It didn’t appear to have oxidized on me. I saw some reviews that mentioned a glitter finish. I didn’t see that. I did see a faint shimmer, but I also had dusted powder over this, but I saw much more dramatic shimmer when I tried IT cosmetics CC cream in the illuminating formula. Flower Beauty’s Light Illusion didn’t do that on me, but there was a brightness that I don’t get with Double Wear. I did notice that it settled into my frown lines, but pretty much everything does. A quick tap of my finger and it blended out. I’m not greasy or tacky. I didn’t use a primer, just applied over Neutrogena Hydro Boost.
I’ve tried BB and CC creams before and don’t care for how little coverage they offer. But I don’t need full coverage every single day. It’s after 8 pm now and this is still going strong even after a nap. I’m anxious to see how this applies with a regular beauty blender. Here’s the down side…I think you can only get it from Walmart and Ulta. There are a few Walmart’s around me and only one that I’ve seen this in, and it’s usually picked over. Ulta’s site only carries the three middle shades, no light shades at all. So as much as I like this one, I can see having to order it being kind of annoying.
Overall I’m pleased with this one. I just wish it was easier to purchase.

It took me years, but I finally found a foundation that looks amazing on my combination/mature/acne-prone skin. It settles minimally in my lines (I’ve come to terms with the fact that ceaseless base products do not exist), doesn’t aggravate my acne, and isn’t cakey. It’s a dewy formula, so I do have to set it wear I get oily and where I want to blend powder products on top, but it lasts well throughout the day. It also makes a decent mixer foundation, to make a matte foundation more satin. I enjoyed mixing this with CYO Lifeproof to take it to the next level.
I wear L0 shell in the winter and L1 Porcelain in the summer. I believe I am either NC10 to NC 15 in skintone and neutral warm undertone. Their shades do run on the yellow side, so this might not work well for folks on the cool spectrum. The cost is really reasonable, and I love the packaging: glass bottle with a nice pump.

Let me just say that it took me time to appreciate this foundation. In the summertime I found it a little bit to Dewey, I have combo skin. Now in the winter while my skin is super dry, it really is a beautiful foundation. It makes my skin look healthy and hydrated, but during the summer it looks like an early mass. So it’s definitely something I like seasonally. If you have dry skin or live in a cold climate, I would give it a try a try.

I have this in color L4 (I’m NC 25) and it is a great match for me. I really like this foundation! I find it to have very good coverage without a heavy feel. Actually it is incredibly light feeling. It is natural and skin like. It is long wearing. I had no issues with separation or sliding around. I got it on Black Friday for 40% off and I wish I would have bought more than one. Although it is already at an excellent price point. I think I prefer it over my beloved L’Oreal foundations.

Like skin, not glowing, just moisturizing. Doesn’t settle in lines. Wish color selection were more cool tones. Ivory closest for me.

This foundation is actually quite decent, it just didn’t work for me mainly because the shade range is absolutely not inclusive of very pale or very dark skin, if you’re medium to caramel toned it’s fine, if you fall outside of that Flower Beauty can’t be bothered to make shades for you. I’m pale and Shell, the lightest color, was pretty dark and yellow… However the formula is nice. I have well behaved problem free combo (slightly oily and normal) skin, this is probably better suited for dry skin. It covers well and evens out your skin without being heavy or grotesque or mask like. It definitely has a glow…. If you like that look you’ll love the finish. For me it looked too greasy but when I set it with my favorite power it was much better and I actually appreciated the glow and it no longer looked too much like greasy skin or an editorial look just healthy and pretty. I was also struck by how undetectable it was on my skin….which was awesome as I find the heavy thick cakey look sad and unappealing. It can be hard to find natural looking finishes in drugstore makeup. I returned this due to the shitty color match/lack of shade inclusivity but I would have happily kept it if I had a proper color match even though I prefer less glow… It’s that’s pretty and high quality.

I bought this based on great reviews from others with mature and dry skin like me. I am usually a light with neutral to cool shade range. As others mentioned the colors ran on the dark side and because my local Walmart only had Porcelain, that’s what I picked. It was actually a pretty good match.
This blended nicely, had decent medium coverage and dried down nicely to the touch. While it didn’t look terrible, it didn’t really blur or do any smoothing over my mature skin. Not many foundations actually seem to make my skin look better.
I’m kind of a foundation junkie – always on the search for something better but I think I’m going to stop and just be thankful for the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. So far, that one has worked the best for me, even better than any high end foundations that I’ve tried.

If I take price into account, this foundation would be a 4.5 out of 5. However I don’t like rating things based on price because then that leads to very misleading review scores where average quality cheap products are rated higher than better performing expensive products.
I have this in L3 which is the perfect yellow shade for my skin which usually sits between an NC15 – NC20. Do not buy this if you’re neutral – it is a yellow toned shade and I’m pretty over reading negative reviews from people who think that a product sucks solely because it was made for someone with a different skin tone.
This cost $14NZD, and is the best foundation I’ve found for under $50 or so. It is a medium coverage satin finish on me that is very versatile – if I apply this with a brush or over powder it’ll be satin matte. If I apply it with a damp sponge over a hydrating primer it’ll be glowy (but not shiny). I find it to be similar but better than Tarte Rainforest of the Sea and Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (which I would wear in Light Sand and #51 respectively at my lightest in Winter, but would need a lot of bronzer to do so). It builds up easily and blends well. I can barely see a difference if I use my Hourglass ALP under or over it, and I don’t bother wearing undereye concealer because this does a good job of evening out that area.
The only reason this foundation isn’t perfect on me is because it still looks like foundation to the well trained eye. People who don’t know much about makeup didn’t think I’d be wearing foundation, but if you’re really into your makeup you can easily spot it. It does that common thing where it sinks into your pores at the end of your nose, especially if you use a brush to apply.
I’m happy to keep using this as my daily foundation because it’s so much cheaper and effective compared to other entry to mid range options. For special occasions when I want the smoothest skin ever, I’ll use Tarte Amazonian Clay because when I use that with a damp sponge and rosehip oil it gives me full coverage while still maintaining a skin-like finish.

I have combo/oily skin, live in a hot and humid climate, am 30, and have few skin problems. This foundation slides around my face, transfers horribly, and settles into lines, even after using the brand primer and powder. It’s dewy, great, but it has the effect of making me look 10 years older, and skin damaged. Oxidises, and never dries down. Terrible.

This foundation is really beautiful for my more mature skin. I have tried many foundations from high end to some low end, and I’m so lucky that I found this one. It is a beautiful finish that does not leave me looking matte & lifeless. It makes me look healthy and somewhat dewy, if I can call it that. In fact, it is in my top 3 favorite foundations. I always pair it with one of Flower Beauty’s primers, so I’m not sure if that helps. I do set it with the Light Illusion Powder and it lasts all day for me. Everyone on YT raves about this foundation, and I really didn’t think it would live up to the hype, but it really does for me.
