Even though it does have silicones this oil is AMAZING! It transforms my frizzy hair into silk. The smell is great too. I put it in my hair when it is damp and after styling if needed.

I hate to be the one to say this, but Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil is mainly silicones. My hair loves silicone because it gives my hair a slippery feel that mimics healthy hair. No, this product will not undo any damage, but it can temporarily pretend to. I will note that this can *prevent* further damage, as explained in the next paragraph.
I would recommend applying this to damp hair only. That’s the beauty of silicones, they act as occlusive agents. For those unfamiliar with the term, it means that silicone will serve as a physical barrier to prevent epidermal water loss. You can lock moisture in by applying to damp hair…and you can lock moisture out by applying to dry hair. Here is where preventing damage comes in. If a product locks in moisture, your hair won’t have the opportunity to break/split as much.
My other gripe is fragrance is way too high up on the ingredient list. Fragrance tends to be drying; so the fact there’s a higher content of fragrance than natural oils is worrisome. This product only has a minuscule amount of the beneficial ingredients that advertising brags about.

Edited to add: I wouldn’t be surprised if this product is breaking out a lot of acne-prone consumers. Cyclopentasiloxane is a notorious silicone for clogging pores. The other silicones tend to be okay…but cyclopentasiloxane is the main ingredient! Additionally I can definitely see the natural oils (argan, almond, coconut) causing major break outs for many. Out of those 3, I am 100% positive coconut breaks me out. Everyone’s skin is different. But hey like I said – the content of those ingredients is almost nonexistent in this formula.

I love this product. It’s light, smells good and has become a staple. I usually don’t detangle or comb my hair when it’s wet, so I use this on dry hair. I take a small amount each time as many times as needed, rub it in my hands and then use on my hair for some “slip” to make detangling easier.
