This OPI is a lovely color that other reviewers described better than I ever could. It doesn’t necessarily “wow” me, but still, if you’re looking for a “blurple” that is a bit on the conservative side, this would be an excellent choice. But what compelled me to write this review at all are the formula and the brush. Both are awesome. Whenever I paint my nails, I usually end up spending a ton of time cleaning up “mistakes.” It’s not for lack of practice or skill; I change my nail color about 3 times a week, have a fairly steady hand and I’m slightly ambidextrous. I just have narrow nail beds and a lot of nail polish brushes tend to fan out a bit too wide for me. I can’t stand the new Sally Hansen wide “one-stroke” brushes for that very reason. The OPI brush seems to pick up just the right enough color and fans out more or less perfectly. The formula went on smoothly and evenly. It’s *really* sheer, though. 3 coats probably would have sufficed but I ended up doing 4 coats to get the color saturation I was looking for. However, I was really impressed by how quickly each coat dried. It felt almost as fast as the instant quick dry formulas I’ve used. I can’t comment on wear since I just applied it tonight. I’ll probably be reaching for this bottle more often in the future.

OPI’s The Color to Watch was from the 2009 Swiss Collection and is a cool-toned shimmery-leaning-toward-frosty-metallic grey’d lilac polish with flashes of blue in certain lighting. The grey in this polish gives it a slightly muddy/muddled undertone that does not work well with my pale skin with very light yellow tones. Lavender is not a color I can wear well because of my warm-toned skin and this one just did not work. Also, it has that frosty (without brush strokes) almost metallic finish that I’m not a big fan of. The application was a little streaky on the first coat and it took four coats to total opacity. I did have a problem with bubbling on this one which I usually don’t get with too many OPIs. All in all, I’m not loving this, don’t think it will be on my nails long enough to judge wear time, and will not be repurchasing.

I love love loove this color! It’s such a pretty metallic silver purple color.
It was a little sheer but the formula was great!
Everyone complimented my nails!
