   It is a gelled oil balm intended to be used on the lips.
   It is a thinner product today than it used to be. I think it would be better to have a more substantial balm to the contrary of today’s version. Although it is still a dense looking balm intended to be packaged in a jar, it would be more suitable as a gloss in a container with an applicator since the finish is thin, glossy and barely felt on the lips.

   I prefer balms that are more substantial.
   But that being said, this balm, despite the thin residue, does provide hydration and comfort to the lips.

   Big plus for opting for fragrance-free. And minus for the jar packaging (but this product could not be packaged as a stick since it lacks structure.)

   This lip balm is really really really sticky, and it sticks to your finger even if you rinse it off. The only way out is to rinse thoroughly with a soap bar. If you are looking for a product that has a tasty, sweet flavour and a delicious smell, this is absolutely not for you. It doesn’t smell so good to me, and the flavour… Uh uh. This lip balm really helps to soothe dry and chapped lips, but it does feel kind of oily after a few hours of application. I have a feeling like it doesn’t really absorb. I don’t recommend this for anyone that wants to carry this lip balm in their purses, since you have to rub your fingers in to apply, and you might put extra bacterias in it. But is it worth it? To me, not really. It cost very very expensive, comparing to its ability. It doesn’t really heal my chapped lips. When I bought this, I was expecting a perfect lip product.

   This lip balm is expensive $74 for 0.3 oz .9g the texture is very thick and sticky slight waxy it helps with my irritated lips but not really for the dryness its just too thick sits on top of the lips. Hard to get out of the pot and apply since its sticky/waxy. This is similar to carmex lip balm one in the pot but thicker, more waxy like burt’s bees and without the mental cool feel so it did not further irritate my lips. Since its pricey it should have came with a small retractable lip brush so you don’t have to use your finger and get fine dust or particle in the product. I will not repurchase it did not do anything for my chapped lips did not emulsify to get into cracks of the lips. Fresh lip balm work better and melt into the cracks of the lips plus its more hygienic it comes in a stick form and screw on cap so the cap will not come loose in your bag.

   I have chronically dry lips and in the winter if I go one day without lip balm, I need an emergency ointment, so I’m always in search of a lip balm that delivers. I’m happy to say that, after searching for a long time, I’ve found my HG!

   On a windy winter day my lips were really cracked and bleeding and I could barely smile without tearing them, so I decided to finally buy Sisley’s Nutritive Lip Balm after having read raving raviews. It was very expensive—like everything Sisley—but trust me ladies, this is worth your hard earned bucks. I applied a thick layer of this that night and, after the following night, my lips were completely baby soft again.

   This balm has a very thick gel consistency but it’s neither filmy nor waxy; my lips just feel comfortable and protected and look “glassy” rather than glossy. The product comes in a pot with a little spatula to help get the balm out. It has no fragrance, which is a huge plus for me. Some lip products are too heavily fragranced and give me headaches.

   I really love this balm. I keep it in my nightstand as it’s not so practical to carry around, so during the day, I use various other lip balms, my favourites being the tinted ones by Korres and By Terry Baume de Rose—not only does it smell great, it also really nourishes my dry lips.

   For nightly maintenance, I use either a light layer of this balm or Nuxe Reve de Miel, and Bliss Fabulips Lip Scrub every 3 nights or so.

   So, bottom line: if you suffer from chapped lips, you need to try this little gem!

   I would recommend this if you have extremely chapped, cracked lips or need a true “balm.” I tried it during a time my skin was severely irritated, and it definitely helped rescue my lips. No doubt it’s great for highly irritated skin from sunburn, dry climates, radiation, and “emergency treatment,” as the description states. For regular use, I’ll be sticking with By Terry Baume de Rose and La Mer. This is reserved for emergency use only.

   I love this balm. It is very moisturizing. But the jar packaging (even if it is so cute) makes it impossible to carry it in my bag as I don’t want to put my dirty fingers when I am outside.

   Disappointed with this product, I had high hopes from the brand and the price tag! Bought this to wear overnight as I had run out of my usual staple clinique intensive repair wear lip treatment, this isn’t a patch on the clinique! I had a couple of dry patches on my bottom lip which needed some intense hydration overnight before applying matte lipstick in morn. Unfortunately the Sisley balm didn’t do anything to hydrate these patches and as the day goes on my lips feel worse. I did wake up to nice feeling lips, plumped up etc but the effects are gone once the products disappears off the lips. If you are looking for a seriously moisturising, long lasting lip treatment then clinique is the one to buy. I also prefer the lipstick style packaging of clinique instead of the sisley’s pot. It’s a thumbs down from me and definitely won’t re purchase.

   If i hadn’t had known this was repeatly the Instyle magazine 100 best buys lip balm catergory winner, when trying it out at the counter, I probably would have walked away and never looked at it again. On first usage this just feels like a very dense and sticky lip balm with nothing particularly glamourous or special about it. Having bought this product and used it for a good few weeks I can definitley say my opinion has changed. I have big lips anyway but, I have also noticed that using this lip balm they have become very well defined and nicely plumped (kind of what I wanted the La Prairie Lip Renewal Concentrate and their Lip Line Plumper to do). My lips have started to feel centre stage using this product, to the extent that I use far less eye make-up to avoid looking just ‘lips and eyes’, hehe.
   My lips really do feel hydrated using this product, but just in a different way to Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream and La Mer’s Lip Balm, my lips feel less smooth with the feeling of peeling skin on the surface where as Elizabeth Arden’s really does completely smooth my lips. They all work well as further as I am concerned, but the thick texture of this balm is really starting to growing on me…..this makes Eight Hour Protectant seem very watery and runny now!
   The only thing I feel this product is lacking for its £41 price tag is that luxurious feel on application…..for the price, it would be nice to have that feeling. At the moment I find La Mer’s Lip Balm to be the most luxurious to put on. Fortunately, I only paid £27ish for this (from a reputable high street department store) which makes this product much more acceptable. I can image if I’d paid £41 then I would expect more and possibly feel a bit disappointed with this product in ways. That said, having tried pretty much most of the expensive, similar priced and highly rated lip products on the market I would actually buy this one again and pay £41 for it (if I had to).

   I have a very dry lips, so I thought I needed a lip balm especially at winter time. The lady at the make up store skin care section advised me to use this because she said this is good for very dry skin. Out of desperation I bought it right away not asking for a sample to try first because it was way too expensive for a product that doesn’t do what it promised. It leaved my lips dry and sticky. I think vaseline works better than this one. Sorry for the review but this is what I experienced.

    My lips tend to be try and peeling. Since I’ve been using this lip balm, all the mentioned problems are gone. When I started using it (about a month ago), I decided to do a treatment and put a generous amount of this lip balm on my lips before I went to bed. For a few nights in a row. The result was great – beautiful, soft lips! Now I only use it during the day and that’s enough to keep them moist and beautiful.
