Initially I loved this foundation and thought I found an alternative to Revlon’s Colorstay. It applies beautifully at first, full coverage, minimises pores but as the day wears on. The foundation oxidises badly and I become a patchy, oily mess.

It’s been a while that this foundation was under my radar but I wasn’t courageous enough to buy it.I have a dry,finicky skin and usually high coverage,matte foundations don’t sit well on my skin.and I can’t get along well with foundations that look like makeup.I want them to be skin like even when I look at my face closely in the mirror.but finally I decided to took a step out of my comfort zone and I ordered Maybelline Superstay foundation in shade 10/Ivory
I had never found a perfect color match in my whole life.my face and neck are at least a shade darker than my chest and body and I always tried to match foundations to my chest and arms.for refrence Boutjois Healthy Mix 51, Huda Beauty Faux Filter in 140G/Casheware,WetnWild Photofocus Soft Ivory and It Cosmetics CC Cream in Fair are perfect matches for my body but still look somehow too light on me.shade 10 of Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid was one of the best color matches I have ever had so I decided to order Maybelline Superstay in shade 10 too.shade 10 in Superstay is half a shade darker than 10 in Satin Liquid Dream and looks very peachy orange when swatched on my hand but on my face I can call it a good(but not perfect) match.it’s the right tone but for a perfect undertone match I think I need something on the olive side.after buying and trying this foundation I learned that when my foundations match my neck they look better than when they match my chest and that I have to stop buying fair ones and go with light,maybe even light-medium ones.
Now lets talk about Superstay foundation.shade 10/Ivory is a light (but not fair by any means) beige with a warm,peachy undertone.close to shade 10 of Catrice HD Coverage after being oxidized.but this maybelline one doesn’t oxidize at all.it’s not a perfect match for me but it’s close enough to look good..when I first tried it on bare skin it looked horrible.a cakey,flakey mess.then I put on a rich moisturizer before this one and it looked even worse.it balled up and refused to sit on it.third time I washed and scrubbed my face.sprayed Mac Fix+,used a light moisturizer(St.Ives Collagen Moisturizer),then applied Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer(in red and white tube)which I assume is a smoothing,moisturizing primer.then I put on a little of Maybelline Superstay on one of my cheeks and blended it with a slightly damp beauty blender dupe sponge(I sprayed some rose water on my sponge).I was amazed to see how beautiful it looks on my skin.it looked highend! had high coverage but still didn’t feel or look heavy or cakey.gave me a matte finish which I usually don’t like but it was a velvety smooth,airbrushed,somehow natural/not masklike matte so I loved it.there aren’t many foundations that behave on my dry-combo skin and usually they’re hydrating ones so I was pleasantly surprised to find out I can make Maybelline Superstay work.actually it looked so good that even my husband and my sister in law commented on it and told me my skin looks flawless
I also like it’s high quality glass bottle which has a pump(eventhough I have to be careful so that it’s white plastic lid won’t get dirty) and I like that it’s scentless.I felt there’s no need to set it with powder,I only used some Golden Rose Translucent loose powder under my eyes to set my concealer and sprayed Nyx dewy setting spray on the rest of my face.it didn’t feel tight and drying or heavy unlike what I expected.I thought I have found an HG
Unfortunately I was surprised when I returned home around 5-6 hours later(the whole time I was in an air conditioned room,just sitting,eating and talking.no hard physical activity) and looked in the mirror.it had rubbed off a bit around my nose where I had put on sunglasses.it looked severly dry,flakey and cakey on my nose and cheeks.it was as if I had hundreds of dry patches there.and at the same time it looked very shiney around my nose! I didn’t know it’s even possible to look oily and dry at the same time!!my blush was still there but my highlighter(The Balm Mary Lou Manizer) looked so bad and messy. It’s ironic that the only problem I have with Superstay is it’s staying power!! the only spot that looked perfectly untouched was under my eyes so the next time I’m going to try powdering it and report the results.if I can find a way to make it look as good as when first applied,this can be one of my favorites but even if I can’t,I’m still happy that I tried it.I paid only 11 USD for it,it has very good,high(but not full when compared to for example Huda Beauty Faux Filter) coverage,a gorgeous matte finish when applied first and photographs very well so I can use it on some special occasions which don’t last long.
Right now I give it three lippies because it looks like a hot mess in less than 6 hours while it claims to stay up to 24 and that it doesn’t always sit well on my skin but I will add another lippie if setting it with powder helps with it’s longevity issue

I went to a beauty store attempting to purchase the perfect foundation for my wedding. I walked out spending $44 for foundation I’ve never used! I saw a beauty guru use this Superstay and i had to try it! A little over $13 is what it cost to look absolutely gorgeous on one of the most important days of my life! The only thing I REALLY don’t like about the foundation is the amount of oil the formula brings to my skin.

I bought this in the lightest shade. It was too light for me and the coverage was maybe too heavy. Looked very white and not natural. Don’t know if the next shade would be better but I think maybe I need to stick to medium coverage foundation. I was wanting to try a full coverage one due to one dark spot on my face but this didn’t really cover it anyway.

I did not like this foundation at all. While initially it applied fine, it creased as the day went on. It make my skin quite oily thus turning my blush and bronzer look a mess. It accentuated my pores and caked around my nose. Very disappointing especially after watching rave reviews on YouTube from various MUA’s.

It gets into my smile lines and is not that good coverage on my skin. Maybe due to the shade being so pale. Also there is not a big variety of shades, lots of very similar ones.

I have been using this foundation for about two years now. It is one of the few drugstore foundations that I have found that accurately matches my skin tone. It looks great when it is on and layers with blush beautifully. It will last all day, but only under the right conditions. If you have oily or combination skin, this product might not be a perfect fit for you. My skin becomes oily throughout the day, making the foundation come right off if I touch my face. If you sweat or are in a humid environment, the foundation will also come off very easily. I do like how this foundation looks when conditions are perfect, but I think I’ll be trying something else once I run out of this bottle.

The coverage of this foundaion is full, and leaves your face powdery smooth. I love how my blush/highlight looks on top of this foundation, it pops! It does look cakey on my dry spots, but that is easily saved by fix plus. Also didn’t break my sensitive skin out which is a huge pro.
As for how it feels on the face, it gets heavier as the day goes on. It feels oily and dry at the same time, not my favorite. Despite looking good, I can’t stand the feeling of it anymore. I will use this for special occasions.

I had to leave work on my lunch break to go wash this off. It felt SO cakey and heavy on my skin. It just felt really gross.Coverage was fine,but it emphasized texture and breakouts. I’ll stick to my CYO Lifeproof foundation.My skin is combo,sensitive,acne prone.
