I agree with the reviewer below, this doesn’t really smell like vinegar, but very sweet raspberry like. Straight from the bottle it’s a bit tricky to use, I mean how do you get it evenly distributed without pouring out half the bottle..?! I use it in a spray bottle and spray it all over as a last step after shampoo & conditioner. It makes my hair extra shiny and soft, definitely not one for when I want a bit of texture, but for flowing & soft looks this is a winner. The price is okay, I tend to bulk buy it when they have 2 for 1 or 40% off.

First off, I’d like to say that I strongly dislike the smell of vinegar, and don’t agree with those who say if you do a vinegar rinse on your hair, you can’t smell it after your hair dries. I can still smell it, even if I only use a tiny amount that’s heavily diluted in water, or with different flavors of vinegar (my husband confirms this is so, he can smell it too). However, vinegar or citric acid rinses are supposed to add shine, help restore ph balance if you are washing with something alkaline (like a shampoo bar), and can help with the removal of minerals if you live in an area with hard water. Although it’s a myth that vinegar clarifies hair..it will not remove product build up, it does have it’s benefits.
So I saw this raspberry vinegar on the Yves Rocher website and it got rave reviews, and everyone insisted it did not smell like vinegar. I purchased some, at about $9 for 5 ounces. I wash my hair with herbal essences and then I squirt some of this liquid in an empty bottle & add about 2 ounces of warm water, shake, work through my hair and rinse. It leaves my hair clean and very shiny, and although vinegar is up high on the ingredient list, it really does not smell like vinegar. It smells strongly of raspberry, almost like black currant. The smell is faint once your hair is dry. This will not detangle or anything like that, so it’s best either paired with a shampoo that doesn’t tangle, or you might need to use conditioner after shampooing, then use this as a last step. I really like this, and may buy a few more in case it gets discontinued.
