This is such a great product! Now, don’t be confused. This is actually amazing, not because of the price ($3), but it is seriously spectacular! If I dare say, even comparable to high end brands! So here are the pros:
1. The pigmentation
-first off, it is on the lesser side of pigmented. Which some wouldn’t like, but I feel that it makes the product wearable. So it doesn’t look cakey, you could have a full face of makeup on and easily wear this lipstick.
2. Hydrating
-this doesn’t dry out the lips! Yay, no more lizard lips! I always apply a bit of lip balm before using it though. If i’m feeling really fancy, I’ll use a lip liner.
3. Lasts a long time
-about 4 – 5 hours if you aren’t touching your mouth!
Those are the 3 main things I thought were the most important! I also have 06 Barely There, which is equally beautiful! Highly recommend!

This colour is what I would describe as a ‘Natural Berry Pink”.
I have light skin (NC15) and light zombie lips and I find it looks a little garish on me. It’s not too bright, and cool toned, but I myself prefer a more natural look.
If you have more pigmented lips, or have a darker skin tone, this might be a perfect every day lip colour!
– Price is incredible, particularly considering how good the quality is
– Texture is excellent. Satiny finish. Creamy enough not to settle to dry skin or lines, but doesn’t bleed. Not very long lasting.
-NO SHIMMER! This is a godsend for me. I have thinner lips and find that shimmer “shrinks” them and washes me out.
– Very subtle smell. I opened this up expected that gross lipstick smell – akin to Maybelline. Imagine my delight when there’s only a light bubblegum-berry smell! Its lovely and doesn’t make me feel sick like other scents.
Definitely grab this – given the price you have nothing to lose.

After reading raving reviews online, I decided to buy a tube, and ‘Natural Beauty’ was my first pick. After applying my favorite lip liner ny NYX in ‘Ever”, I opened to cap, and gave it a whiff. Yes, I smelled it. It might sound weird, but some lipsticks have that awful burnt plastic smell I can’t stand…..you guys know what I’m talking about. Anyway, this lipstick has no smell. At all. Which was very nice. Also, I have very dry lips, and almost always stuck to tinted lip balms for a pop of color, because I find most lipsticks accentuate the dryness of my lips. For experimentations sake, I decided to not add a lip moisturizer, just to see how this product would perform with my lips. PERRRFECTION! This lipstick is one of the most buttery, creamy, beautifully rosey-mauve, opaque, moisturizing, satin finish lipsticks I have the pleasure of using. It doesn’t bleed, dry my lips out, or catch in the cracks of my dry lips. It actually moisturizes them. Hooray for Essence, and I will definitely be buying more of these beauties in different shades. I’m so happy I finally found a cheaper alternative lipstick to M.A.C. that gets the job done. Highly, highly recommended for those on a budget, and those who aren’t!
